With the help of countless resources from across county and state lines, first responders in Unicoi County have been able to find a majority of the 33 people who were unaccounted for the afternoon of Sept. 28, Erwin Police Chief Regan Tilson told Knox News.

Officials in Unicoi County will hold a press conference on Monday at 10 a.m. to provide updates on ongoing search and rescue efforts. As of Sunday, 47 people were unaccounted for throughout the county.

WYCB reports that people died in the flooding in Unicoi County but did not confirm how many. This is according to Unicoi County Emergency Management Director and Incident Commander Jim Erwin. In a Saturday afternoon press conference, Erwin also said an estimated 33 people are missing.

News Channel 11 was at Unicoi County High School on Sunday afternoon to attend a press conference after devastating flooding throughout the county. The press conference was streamed live and will be available for viewing shortly.
