Tropical storm warning issued for Florida Keys as Rafael becomes hurricane
MIAMI - The lower and middle Florida Keys are under a tropical storm warning as Hurricane Rafael is forecast to grow steadily on a path for Cuba, where it's expected to arrive on Wednesday. A tropical storm warning is also issued for portions of Cuba. A hurricane warning is in effect for parts of Cuba.
Hurricane Rafael now Cat 3 strength, Florida Keys under Tropical Storm Warning
Hurricane Rafael is still occurring in the official hurricane season, but it is in some rare company. As of 1 p.m. Eastern, Hurricane Rafael had maximum sustained winds of 115 mph putting it in the Category 3 hurricane strength.
