Two tropical cyclones are continuing to move over open water in the Atlantic, but forecasters say neither poses a threat to land.

Forecasters with the National Hurricane Center are tracking five systems in the Atlantic Ocean, including one tropical storm and two tropical depressions. However, the system most likely to affect the United States was located in the Western Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico,

The National Hurricane Center is tracking three developing systems with growing chances to form into the season’s next tropical depression or storm while also following Hurricane Isaac and Tropical Storm Joyce in the Atlantic.

Hurricane Isaac and Tropical Strom Joyce are both in the Atlantic and are expected to stay in the open Atlantic.

Forecasters say Isaac has strengthened into a hurricane in the open waters of the Atlantic Ocean and could cause dangerous waves in parts of Bermuda.

Monday, Sep. 30, 2024, 5 a.m. ET The National Hurricane Center's 5 am Monday advisory reported that Tropical Depression Joyce is 910 miles east-northeast of the Northern Leeward Islands, with maximum sustained wind of 35 mph.
