A 40-year-old woman and an eight-year-old girl have been found dead inside a house in Salford, police have confirmed. Greater Manchester Police said officers had been called out to a property on South Radford Street just before midday over "concerns of welfare".

Emergency services responded to a concern for welfare call at the property in Salford at 10.30am this morning, where they found the girl and the woman. Their next of kin have been informed.
