Lynbrook High School and Joaquin Miller Middle School are among 356 schools across the nation and 33 in California to be recognized by the U.S. Department of Education Sept. 23 as a National Blue Ribbon School.

Four area schools have been named 2024 Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence by the U.S. Department of Education. U.S. Education Secretary Miguel Cardona announced 356 winners of the prestigious prize Monday.

Russell Elementary School in Missoula has been honored as one of only two 2024 Montana National Blue-Ribbon School awardees. Under the leadership of Principal Peter Halloran, Russell Elementary has been recognized for its outstanding academic performance and commitment to student success.
