Leonard Glenn Francis learned his fate Tuesday in what should be one of his final appearances in a San Diego courtroom

Nearly a decade after pleading guilty to bribing Navy officials in order to benefit his ship husbanding company, foreign defense contractor Leonard Glenn "Fat Leonard" Francis is set to be sentenced Tuesday in San Diego.

A U.S. Navy Reserve commander from Pensacola was sentenced to prison Monday in connection to a scheme involving Special Immigrant Visas for Afghan nationals, according to the United States Department of Justice.

Leonard Glenn Francis is expected to be sentenced to more prison time and be ordered to pay at least $20 million in restitution to U.S. Navy

Leonard Francis' sentencing follows a controversial trial of five Navy officers, guilty pleas from dozens of other defendants, and Francis' own flight from the country while on house arrest.
