The veteran actor faced legal action when an actress accused him of rape and assault. The actress, who is also a member of the Women In Cinema Collective, complained to the Special Investigation Team convened to look into the sexual assault matters brought out by Hema Committee Report.

The Kerala High Court denied anticipatory bail for actor Sidhique in a rape case. He faces charges under sections 376 and 506, claiming harassment by the complainant since 2019. The state government has formed an investigation team following multiple allegations in the Malayalam film industry.

The Kerala High Court has rejected the anticipatory bail petition of Malayalam actor Siddique in a rape case registered against him based on a complaint by a female actor. Siddique, who served as the general secretary of A.M.M.A. (The Association of Malayalam Movie Artists) had quit after the allegations surfaced.

CPI(M) legislator Mukesh Madhavan, Nivin Pauly, Jayasurya, Edavela Babu, Maniyanpilla Raju, directors Ranjith and Prakash, and production executives Vichu and Noble.

In his petition, Siddique claimed that the complainant, a known supporter and member of the Women’s Cinema Collective (WCC), had fabricated these allegations.

Sidhique had resigned from his post as general secretary of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) following the allegations against him.
